Say Hi to Amanda James and the Headless Miners

"Hi, my name is Amanda James. I am presently enrolled in college through Contact North (here in Atikokan) for Social Service Worker / Drug and Alcohol Counselor. I support animal rights and do my best to carry out many duties to help with the animals of Atikokan

I look forward to learning more about Steep Rock Iron Mines and the other mines that were in action in the past. I enjoy meeting people both from town and out of town. There are so many stories being told and to be told. All the mines that surrounded Atikokan deserve more attention because its amazing how the people constructed and completed these jobs. I hope everyone gets an urge to learn more about the mines and comes to visit the Atikokan Mining Attraction. See you there!!"

The Atikokan Mining Attraction is open for summer visitation again, from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday and noon to 5:00 on Saturdays. The Headless Miners will be out, when the weather is nice for photo opportunities. So bring your visitors down to the Mining Attraction and visit the Museum and the Library, we're all right there together, beside the Post Office.
